Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds is a multi-media musical extravaganza based on the multi-platinum progressive rock album of the same name. The show has been selling out arenas throughout the UK, Europe and Australia over the past 2 years. This summer it will play 2 nights at London’s O2 Arena after selling out Wembley Arena on previous tours. This show will blow you away! A 10 piece rock band & 46 piece orchestra on stage, actors singing their parts including Justin Hayward from The Moody Blues, a gigantic Martian fighting machine that drops down onto the stage and fires beams out at the audience, specially designed pyro, 60 foot projection screens with cgi animation, Richard Burton’s holographic head hovering above the stage narrating the story with his lines taken from the original soundtrack, it’s really wild. I’ve attached a pdf with a history of War of The Worlds, press quotes, photos, links to some videos, etc. Sony will be rereleasing the double CD set in a 30th Anniversary package once the tour dates are set and Universal will release the DVD of the show for the first time in the U.S. We’ve been told PBS will be supporting this and including the show as part of their pledge drives later this year. Part of the British cast here will be replaced by well know American singers/actors once we have the tour in place, the same was done in Australia where two local favorites were added into the cast for the run of dates there but the show will still include Hayward. The show and the album have received numerous awards and the single Forever Autumn by Justin Hayward was a smash hit around the world including the U.S.
