Born and raised in New York City, Carlos Keyes has always followed his musical dreams. First as an artist in the late 80's; then as part of the successful pop/dance duo of Babie & Keyes. Followed by stints behind the scenes as producer, mixer and hitmaker for several major labels.
Tracing his talent agency roots, Keyes got his first taste of the biz while working at the Pyramid Entertainment Group. Armed with a degree in computer science, Carlos Keyes started out in 1993 as an agent’s assistant, working his way up to a full time agent. By the year 1995, Keyes was booking all the international gigs for such big name talents as Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Kool and the Gang and Men At Work to name a few.
In 2000, needing room to grow, wanting to book other artists and develop his own tours, Keyes moved on. Becoming a partner at The Artists and Audience Agency, booking rock oriented acts along with more R&B. After a year there with things in flux, Keyes formed the American Talent Agency with an associate from his Pyramid days.
After several years of honing his booking skills, Keyes founded Red Entertainment Group. Driven by a clear vision and specific goals Red has more than lived up to his dreams of what an agency should be. Red is much more than a booking agency, he says. Now I finally have the freedom to diversify, at Red we do what's right for our artists. I have a personal hands on relationship with every artist on our roster. When an artist signs on with us they become part of the Red team of agent, artist and manager. He goes on, I owe it to my artists to give them 500% because they trust me with their careers. They can reach me 24/7. I understand what it's like to be an artist, and now I'm seeing and living it from the other side. He adds, At Red our roster is more established talent, we don't sign flavor of the month acts. Our artists are not hit dependent. Our acts are legends, all great performers. They can work for as long as they want, whenever and wherever, anywhere in the world. A sampling of Red Entertainment Group's worldwide exclusive artists include such superstars as Dionne Warwick, Gloria Gaynor, JT Taylor (formerly of Kool and The Gang), The Human League, Belinda Carlisle, Cameo and internationally, Chaka Khan.
A good example of Carlos Keyes creative vision was the sellout SOUL DIVAS TOUR. With a clear concept in mind Keyes made it happen and July 2004 the superstar talents of Whitney Houston, Natalie Cole and Dionne Warwick played to SRO crowds in Europe. Also in the works is another Keyes concept, Dionne's Solid Gold Christmas Tour that toured in December 2004.
In addition to running Red Entertainment, from 2003 to the fall of 2004 Keyes partnered up with the Agency of the Performing Arts (APA) to handle their international bookings for artists such as Air Supply, Michael Franks and Stanley Jordan. Now with so many upcoming plans on his plate for Red, Carlos Keyes finds he must direct the energies of his agency to his own projects, but will continue to work with APA in the future.
Keyes created KC’s BOOGIE BLAST in 2006 this touring package toured worldwide with KC & The Sunshine Band, Gloria Gaynor, Sister Sledge & Tavares to sold out audiences dancing to 70s music.
In 2008, Carlos Keyes created mega 80s band touring package of THE REGENERATION TOUR , which in it’s first year toured successfully with The Human League, Belinda Carlisle, ABC and A Flock of Seagulls. Other Regeneration Tours have followed in 2009 through 2013.
In 2013, Carlos Keyes has taken Red Entertainment into the film and television realm with film and TV project now in the works. There's nothing like the satisfaction of doing a good job for my artists.
In 2015, Carlos Keyes produced feature horror/ sci-fi film "Black Wake" staring Tom Sizemore, Eric Roberts and Nana Gouvea.
in 2016 production of numerous feature films are in various stages of production.
